Pokemon Go Version 1.37.2 & 0.67.2: What Did the Update Change?

Niantic Pokemon Go is available for iOS and Android devices.

A brand new Pokemon Go update has just been released. What’s new in the latest version of the game?

Version 1.37.2 for iOS, and 0.67.2 for Android, seems to be one of the more minor updates that just tweaks a few glitches and bugs but does not have too large an effect. After all, Niantic traditionally posts patch notes on its website to accompany updates, but they did not do so this time, an indication that the update is not all that significant. Instead, they simply announced its release in a tweet and said it aims to “implement bug fixes.”

So what are those bug fixes? Well, according to The Silph Road, the update includes some tweaks to reduce the pre-battle buffer time. Niantic has also made adjustments to character heights, which is probably meant to combat the glitch in which Pokemon would not display properly in gyms; Steelix, for example, would sometimes be seen with its head sticking out of the top of the gym.

Niantic also appears to have fixed the issue where a Pokemon’s HP and charge bars would erratically increase and decrease during a battle.

Finally, a piece of the update’s code features the phrase “ONE_YEAR_ANNIVERSARY,” which indicates that some sort of special celebration is coming on July 6th, the one-year anniversary of Pokemon Go.

Unfortunately, there are still a variety of issues with the game that don’t seem to have been fixed in this new update. One of them is the fact that players often get a message saying that a gym is “under attack” when trying to place a Pokemon in a gym after battle. Niantic has identified this as a bug, but they don’t seem to have addressed it yet.

In addition, the glitch in which interacting with a gym resets an egg’s distance has also not been fixed by this update, nor has the glitch where players receive “error” messages when trying to participate in a Raid Battle.

These additional Pokemon Go bugs will likely be addressed in a future update. For now, here’s a look at how some players have gotten around the issue of receiving “error’ messages before Raid Battles:
