‘Pokemon Sun & Moon’: More Marshadow Details Revealed

Pokemon Sun and Moon

Marshadow was officially revealed back in April but now we have some more details about this newest Pokemon, which still isn’t available to catch in Pokemon Sun and Moon.

Marshadow is known as the Gloomdweller Pokemon, it conceals itself in shadows and never shows itself to humans. Maybe that’s why we haven’t seen it in-game yet. Marshadow will be the first Pokemon ever to be both Fighting and Ghost type. Fighting-type Pokemon are usually ineffective against Psychic-types but now players will be able to use Marshadow’s Ghost type to be effective against them in battle.

A new move is coming as well called Spectral Thief that can only be learned by Marshadow. The move steals any stat boosts that the target had, and then attacks the target.  Marshadow also has a Z-Move called Soul-Stealing 7-Star Strike. This move can only be used if Marshadow knows Spectral Thief and is holding Marshadium Z, the special Z-Crystal for Marshadow that can’t be obtained through regular gameplay.

The attacks causes Marshadow to attack its opponent full force with a flurry of punches and kicks. We don’t yet know how to get the Z-Crystal so stay tuned for more information on that end.

pokemon ultra sun and ultra moon

During a Pokemon Direct earlier this month, Nintendo and Game Freak announced they were working on enhanced versions of Sun and Moon called Ultra Sun and Ultra Moon. These titles are releasing later this year and will presumably be the last mainline Pokemon games released for the handheld as production will shift over to the Nintendo Switch, as they announced a Pokemon game was in development for Nintendo’s newest console. The games will still take place in the Alola region, but will have an alternate story, new Pokemon and new features added to them, to make them a brand new experience, but familiar at the same time.

The Nintendo 3DS is also receiving the second generation of Pokemon games through the Virtual Console service. Pokemon Gold and Silver will be available later this year.
