Drop Wizard Tower: 5 Tips and Tricks You Need to Know

Drop Wizard Tower

Drop Wizard Tower is a vibrant and addictive mobile game that tasks users with scaling a large medieval tower and defeating tons of adorable monsters. The core gameplay is made up of having to clear various rooms of enemies by stunning then kicking them. Users can also choose from  6 different wizards and will have to kill a variety of different bosses including a giant skeleton head and big fish.

However, there are some tricks that can make scaling this tower far easier. Given Drop Wizard Tower gets significantly more difficult once you reach the halfway mark. If you want to survive the horrors of the night, here are 5 tips to make your life easier:

1. There’s a Hidden Timer

While it’s not directly shown on the screen, there is actually a timer for each stage you start in Drop Wizard Tower. This means that players cannot hang around forever and wait for an opening to stun foes. However, there is no reason to panic as the timer itself is around 3 to 4 minutes long and users will be notified with the words “Hurry Up” appearing on their screen.  For most levels, this won’t be a large factor, but being pressured by a clock in boss fights can be frustrating. Remember to learn the pattern for the bosses and try to not take risky maneuvers that will get you killed.

2. Pick LaaL or Kallio

Drop Wizard Tower

There are six wizards in this game and by far one of the best is LaaL. He can be acquired early on for 150 Gems and is completely immune to any kind of fire trails. His magic power allows him to create a trail of fire behind him which will instantly kill or damage anything that touches it. This is one of the most consistent damaging magic abilities, especially if you are fighting more mobile monsters. He also sports decent base stun and speed stats compared to the other heroes. However, if you are look

However, if you are looking for a different character, Kallio is a safe choice as well. His ability to rain down rocks and remove one health bar automatically from bosses can be critical in the late game. While his speed is one of the lowest, Kallio sports an impressive starting stun stat that more than makes up for this. In contrast, the one hero you want to avoid is Baburu as he just doesn’t offer anything truly special that can win a tough level for you.

3. Always Try to Spell Wizard

Another odd mechanic that is seemingly never explained, players have the ability to collect colorful potions that contain letters. If a user manages to spell out Wizard than their floor is instantly cleared and they are transported to a special room full of large and small Gems. Users only need to collect a letter once, but you will get extra points if you nab any duplicates along the way.

Ideally, you always want to spell out “Wizard,” however, don’t risk dying over nabbing a letter. They appear frequently enough that it’s not a big issue if you miss one.  Letters drop randomly, both from dead enemies or on their own so always keep your eyes out for the little glass potion jars.

4. Learn How to Manage Enemies

Drop Wizard Tower

A key concept in Drop Wizard Tower is being able to take out multiple foes at once with minimum effort. Typically this is done by stunning an enemy and kicking them into others, but as you go higher in the tower this becomes far more difficult. Players will begin to encounter eggs, which contain an enemy that will spawn on a delayed timer. Eggs cannot be damaged until the foe has broken free, so use their down time to eliminate all the other foes.

Some areas also have wooden boxes which can be damaged once before being broken open and releasing another monster. These boxes can be ignored entirely if you are skilled enough to take down all the enemies before they open, as the monsters inside will only stop your progress if they’re freed. Remember, the last one will turn red and move faster, making them more aggressive so you’ll want to make sure you’re not next to them when this happens. Just be patient and wait for openings before you drop down to stun them.

5. Pick The Right Upgrades

‌Upgrading in Drop Wizard Tower can be a bit tricky due to the different upgrade paths that users can start on. When you level up, a screen will appear that prompts you to upgrade either your speed, magic or stun skill. However, if you pick the heart icon then you will simply gain another life and forfeit the bonus to your character. Always have a heart open to you when you are playing, as the ability to regain another life can make the difference between progressing farther up the tower or seeing the “Game Over” screen.

When you are picking a skill consider what your base stats are for that hero and then tailor your upgrades to remove their weakness. So if you are playing Kallio, aim to upgrade his speed and magic stats first since his base stun skill is already very high. For more balanced characters like Teo, focus on your stun and magic skills first since being faster can sometimes get you killed. Remember to always check out your heroes stats at the beginning and leave yourself a chance to recover some health if needed.
