Rocket League on Nintendo Switch Has Exclusive Content

Rocket League

Rocket League is available on just about every platform these days so developer Psyonix has to do something different to make the game appealing to Nintendo Switch owners – not that being able to play Rocket League on the go isn’t appealing enough.

In a post on Rocket League’s website today we got a good look at what we can expect in terms of customization when the game launches later this year. We were given a look at three exclusive cars designed after Mario, Luigi and Samus Aran. The best part about these exclusive cars is the fact that all three of them will be coming to the Nintendo Switch free of charge. Players will still need to complete certain in-game goals to get them but there will be no paywall outside of purchasing the game.

The colors of the car will also change depending on what team you are representing. Members of the Orange team use the Mario and Samus cars seen in the pictures while members of the Blue team will be equipped with Luigi’s car and a different colored Samus suit.

On top of the new cars, players on the Switch version will have Mario and Luigi toppers that will be able to used on any of the cars in the game that allow customization. This means you can still show off your Nintendo flair even if you opt to not use one of the new cars. The Samus car even features a “Wave Beam” rocket boost that is exclusive to that car.

No definitive release date has been locked down for the game yet but all signs are pointing to a release some time this year. Holiday 2017 is what we have been given so we’re likely looking at a November or December release. Make sure to check out the official trailer released today showing off the new cars below. Rocket League will support all of the Switch’s play modes, included docked TV mode, tabletop mode, handheld mode, and will feature both online and local multiplayer.
