Fortnite: Battle Royale’s latest State of Development post outlines a lot of changes coming to the game. With many updates recently coming to game, such as the Bush and the Smoke Grenade, these changes are just icing on the cake for players.

In the lengthy post Epic Games details changes coming to things such as team killing, shooting, the inventory, and much more. A few things that will standout is the addition of a new point of interest and post-match stats.

If you’ve ever been wondering how many assists you’ve gotten in a match or how far you traveled in any given game then you’re in luck. After you’ve been eliminated (or after you win) you’ll be able to see your results that will give you a variety of stats you might be interested in.

These stats include the following:

  • Eliminations
  • Assists
  • Revives
  • Accuracy
  • Hits
  • Critical Hits
  • Distance Traveled
  • Materials Gathered
  • Materials Used
  • Damage Taken
  • Damage To Players
  • Damage To Structures

Epic calls this the first iteration so it’s likely that we will see this post-match stats page get fleshed out in the future. The leaderboards and stats page are getting reworked in an upcoming update as well that will help things become more user friendly. To be it bluntly, the current leaderboards page leaves a lot of desired. It lacks things such as a kill/death ratio that are very common in most other shooters.

If you recall an email you may have received a while back, it said what type of player you were and it sounds like Epic Games is trying to implement things like that but actually in the game instead of an email.

Another thing sure to please players is the addition of the new point of interest. We don’t have a clear idea what the name of it will be but we do have a screenshot. In what’s being called the new city POI, we have an image showing various structures that will surely fill in some area on the pretty barren left side of the map. No timetable has been given for this update.

The inventory is also being streamlined in a future update. Currently, the system feels a little jumbled but Epic Games will soon rework that into something more user friendly. Instead of having everything appear across one bar, items will instead be sorted by traps and resources, ammo and equipment. This will make finding certain items and splitting stacks a lot easier than it currently is.

During this year’s Game Awards on December 7, Fortnite: Battle Royale will showcase a new limited-time mode coming to the game. This will presumably be a Christmas themed event and Epic Games promises there will be more events like this coming in the future.

Also on the horizon are new weapons, items and other things that will help flesh the game out more in the future. Epic Games mentions in the post that many inspirations for new things in the game come from the forums and from Reddit so it’s important to make your voice heard there if you want to see your ideas come to life.
