PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds Shows Off Five New Screens of Desert Map

PUBG

If you’re one of the players out there that complains about the map in PUBG being too large, then you’re out of luck here as the game is planning on adding another map into the mix. Instead of the mostly grassy terrain you see in the current map, the developers are taking a turn and making it a mostly desert map this time around. This will be the second map available in PUBG and it’s possible that we could see even more in the future.

Instead of seeing the lush, green grass players will instead have to prepare themselves for a more barren environment. Of course you won’t be just walking around an empty desert but instead you’ll have a variety of brand new places to loot and set up ambushes for unsuspecting players. It looks like it’ll be much harder to prone on the ground and wait for people as there will be less cover to hide in if you’re just out in the wilderness.

Courtesy of Nvidia, we have five new screenshots to share that show off the new desert map. As you can see from the screenshots, there will be at least one decent sized town as well as what looks like a deserted highway that runs through much of the wilderness. The screenshots represent a work in progress so anything you see in them can be subject to change. You can find the screenshots at the bottom of this post.

As PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds edges towards it’s eventual full release, we’ll be seeing this map as well as the new vaulting mechanic that was just tested in the Test Server a few days ago.

When PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds debuted on Steam in March, it quickly became one Steam’s most played games. It has since what on to flex its muscles not only on Steam but also on Twitch where it has also become one of the most viewed games. Much of the appeal of playing and watching this game is the action and randomness that can ensue every match. It sounds cliche but it’s true that no two matches will ever be the same.

As PUBG inches towards its exit from Early Access, we’ll also be seeing an Xbox One version of the game coming. The Xbox One version will enter the Xbox Game Preview program which has seen games like Ark in the past. You can look forward to the Xbox One version of the game on December 12. For a more in-depth write-up of the console version, you can head to our post here. If you’re looking for more information about the game in general, it’s probably best to follow PlayerUnknown himself on Twitter.

If you’re on console and waiting for a game like PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds, it’s hard to not recommend trying out Fortnite: Battle Royale. It looks and plays like a more casual version of PUBG but that doesn’t mean it’s any less fun. It receives a good amount of updates as well which make each week a delight to play.
