What’s New In Games This Week

It’s sequel city this week!

Crysis2""

Watch Trailer

On paper, the plot for Crysis 2 is perhaps no better than Crysis 1, which in this instance is an alien invasion of NYC, and once again, it’s up to some dude in a super powered suit to take them all down. Though aside from the fact that plot has always been the last thing one really cares about in a video game, especially a first person shooter. Crysis has been about handling your business in an open-ended fashion, and with the most ridiculously gorgeous graphics imaginable. Throw in a brand new engine, plus tweaks to an already solid gameplay formula (let’s not forget the super satisfying multiplayer from before) and we’ve got another hit on the horizon. If you’re like me, you probably have that one friend that still give’s a rat’s ass about Star Wars and has told you that the Clone Wars cartoon is actually really good. And if you’re also like me, you probably want nothing more to do with Anakin and company, but given how awesome all the LEGO games have been, this one should be the same. Especially now that the engine has bee updated to support up to 200 onscreen elements, meaning there will be a whole mess of LEGO dudes to blow into tiny plastic bits. Wii, PS3, PSP, DS, PC

First off, to answer your first question, it’s pronounced “Dissidia Duodecim Final Fantasy“. And to answer your second question, which I’m guessing is “wft?” It’s a fighting game featuring a whole mess of Final Fantasy characters. All you need to know is that it’s kinda like a mix of Super Smash Bros, but starring a who’s who cast from the FF universe, with enough face to face that would make a whole army of fan-fictioners cream their pants. For the rest of us, it’s worth noting how there’s a bit more of a tactical feel to the action, thanks to the RPG-ish elements. Which is sorta hard to describe accurately in brief, other than to say it’s hella fun. PSP
