You can find many pasta alternatives these days, including spaghetti squash, zucchini ribbons, and Shirataki noodles. But this is the easiest way to make ‘pasta’ for dinner if you’re on a low carb or slow carb diet. Happily, it’s also Paleo, gluten-free, and less calories than a bowl of spaghetti with meat sauce. It’s also much healthier than chowing down on regular pasta, since the broccoli slaw is full of all the good vitamins and minerals that make your body perform at its best.
Low-Carb Turkey and Broccoli ‘Pasta’
- 1 lb ground turkey
- 1/2 sweet onion, chopped
- 1 bag broccoli slaw
- 1 jar pasta sauce
1. Saute the onions for a few minutes. Add the ground turkey and brown.
2. Steam the broccoli slaw until tender. This only takes a few minutes.
3. When the turkey is just cooked through, add the sauce and stir to combine. Cook until just bubbling.
4. Serve broccoli ‘pasta’ with a generous helping of the turkey sauce.
