Roger Huerta, the former UFC lightweight star who was the biggest free agent signing in Bellator‘s young history, advanced to the second round of the season 2 lightweight tournament with a submission victory over Chad Hinton last night.
Huerta struggled in the first round, but took over in the second and third rounds of the fight before securing a fighting-ending knee bar at 0:56 of the third round.
Huerta pushes his MMA record to 21-3-1 and advances to the tournament semifinals. A tournament win would grant him a shot at Bellator lightweight champion Eddie Alvarez.
