Bellator Season Two Finale Slated For Louisville

The season finale for Bellator’s second tournament season is set. The promotion announced today that the finale will take place on June 24 at the Fourth Street Live entertainment district in Louisville, Kentucky. The evening includes the tournament finals for both the featherweight and middleweight divisions.

At the 145-pound division, wrestling powerhouse Joe Warren faces off against Patricio “Pitbull” Freire to determine the featherweight tournament winner and to see who will face featherweight champion Joe Soto at a later date. Warren defeated Eric Marriot and Georgi Karakhanyan, both via unanimous decision, to earn his slot, while Freire defeated William Romero via submission and Wilson Reis via unanimous decision to earn his.

In the middleweight division, Bryan “The Beast” Baker is set to do battle opposite Russian striker Alexander Shlemenko to earn a title shot against Hector Lombard. Baker defeated Sean Loeffler and Eric Shambari via technical knockout and submission, respectively. The flashy striker Shlemenko defeated Matt Major via decision and Jared Hess via technical knockout due to an injury to earn his spot in the tournament finale.
