First Zuffa-produced Strikeforce event takes shape
Official weigh-ins for “Strikeforce: Diaz vs. Daley” take place this Friday, and fans are invited to the festivities.
The event takes place at the Valley View Casino Center in San Diego (formerly known as the San Diego Sports Arena). The venue will also play host to Saturday’s Showtime-televised fight card.
The weigh-ins begin at 7 p.m. ET.
The card is headlined by a welterweight title match between Nick Diaz and Paul Daley, while lightweight champ Gilbert Melendez faces Tatsuya Kawajiri.
The event is the first major Strikeforce card produced since the parent company of the UFC purchased the promotion last month.
