– Fight 1: Phil Harris vs. Darren Uyenoyama – Flyweight
Round 1: Uyenoyama entered the fight three years older, two inches taller and with a half an inch reach advantage over Harris. Lots of feeling out early on in the first round, with Harris getting two takedowns by the 2:30 mark. Uyenoyama attempted a triangle at the 2 minute mark, but Phil Harris was able to escape and the fight was back on the feet at 1:45. Uyenoyama threw several head kicks over the next 90 seconds, but Harris was able to block all of them.

Round 2: Much of the first 90 seconds is spent with the two trading weak jabs on the feet. At the 3 minute mark, Harris was able to pin Uyenoyama against the cage for nearly 20 seconds until Uyenoyama trapped the arm of Harris and was able to secure mount at 1:45. Uyenoyama took the back of Harris at 1:33, sank in a rear naked choke and was able to get the submission win.

– Fight 2: Bart Palaszewski vs. Diego Nunes – Featherweight
Round 1: Palaszewski enters with a 3 inch height and reach advantage over Nunes. Nunes comes out strong and lands a several hard punches, a leg kick and then another flurry of punches at the 4:35 mark. Nunes goes for a takedown and gets it, but gets caught in a guillotine. Nunes escpaes at 3:50 mark, but Palaszewski begins to work a triangle. Nunes was able to get his arm free, relieving the pressure from the triangle at the 2:58 mark and begins to land punches from the top on Palaszewski. The fight gets back on the feet at the 1:35 mark, but Nunes lands a massive right hand at 1:15 that drops Palaszewski. Nunes pounces and begins to land shots from the top. Palaszewski defends well and neutralizes Nunes, sans one punch, for the remaining 37 seconds of the round.

Round 2: Nunes comes out firing again, landing a couple of right hands in the opening 20 seconds. Nunes looking very comfortable and lands another big right hand at 3:55, followed by a spinning back fist that lands at 3:50. Nunes secures a takedown at 3:20 and works some short strikes over the next 40 seconds. Fight gets back to the feet at 2:33 mark and Palaszewski blocks a head kick attempt by Nunes. Nunes continues to land his right hand at will, landing two more that stun Palaszewski. At 1 minute mark, it’s all Nunes – throwing low and high kicks, spinning back fists and big right hands. Nunes gets a trip at 18 seconds and the fighters end the round in a clinch.

Round 3: The first 30 seconds of the round have very little action until Palaszewski starts to press the action. Palaszewski clips Nunes with a short hook and Nunes is hurt at the 4:10 mark. Palaszewski tries to pour it on, but Nunes seems to have regained his bearings at 3:25 mark. Nunes now switches to southpaw stance. Palaszewski still looking to press the action, sensing he needs a finish to win. Nunes, fully recovered at the 1:45 mark, begins to trade with Palaszewski, though neither fighter lands anything significant over the next minute of action. Nunes misses two head kicks in a row at 50 second mark, but finally lands a quick left. Palaszewski moves in to trade and is caught again by a huge right from Nunes with 18 seconds left in the fight and is dropped again. The fight ends with Nunes landing from the top.

– Fight 3: Jacob Volkmann vs. Shane Roller – Lightweight
Round 1: Volkmann in southpaw stance stalking Roller. Volkmann shoots for a takedown at 4:10 mark but in unsuccessful. Volkmann again shoots and nearly gets the takedown, but ends up on Roller’s back at 3:35 mark. He secures the figure four as he tries to loosen Roller up so he can sink in a choke. Volkmann briefly warned about strikes to the back of the head. Volkmann gets a hold of Roller’s neck at 2:40 mark and begins to clamp down. Not totally under the neck, but might be enough to get a tap just due to the pressure on Roller’s jaw/neck. And it is. Volkmann gets the submission win.

– Fight 4: Marcus LeVesseur vs. Carlo Prater – Lightweight
Round 1: Prater with 2 inch height and reach advantage. LeVesseur’s credentials are impressive, having never lost a single wrestling match in his four-year career (D3). And we’re off. Guys lock up early and stay in a clinch against the fence for the majority of the first minute and a half of the fight. Finally LeVesseur takes the fight down, but again no action. Referee Josh Rosenthal stands the two up at 3:09 mark. Prater looks to have attempted a flying triangle at 2:20 mark, but LeVesseur caught him and pinned him against the cage. Prater has a hold of LeVesseur’s neck but LeVesseur is able to escape. Fighters exchange knees in the clinch for over a minute with very little damage or clean shots landed. Round ends that way.

Round 2: Round begins much like the first with fighters clinching against the cage doing little damage for the first 90 seconds of the fight. Crowd starting to become restless. Fighters both work a little dirty boxing and finally release the clinch at 3:14 mark. One clean shot lands for LeVesseur and might be the only truly clean punch landed to this point. Again more clinching against the fence. LeVesseur shoots for a takedown at 2:01 but gets caught in a guillotine attempt from Prater. LeVesseur has an arm in and gives the ref the thumbs up. LeVesseur slips out with 65 seconds remaining in the round. Lots thrown, but little landed. LeVesseur does get a takedown with 20 seconds left and round ends.

Round 3: More clinch work to start the round. Fighters against the fence but LeVesseur finally starts to throw some bombs at the 3:47 mark. Uppercut after uppercut, but off the mark with each. Prater locks up again and we have more clinch. Rosenthal breaks the fighters up at 2:40 mark. Corners of both fighters begging for action. Fight in clinch again at 2 minutes when Prater tries for another guillotine. Again LeVesseur escapes and ends up in Prater’s guard at 1 minute mark. Very little action over last minute of fight and ends with LeVesseur in Prater’s guard. Very tough fight to score as there was hardly any damage inflicted by either fighter.

– Fight 5: Aaron Simpson vs. Mike Pierce – Welterweight
Round 1: Fighters come right out and meet in the middle. Each land a couple of glancing blows. Pierce gets a nice front headlock throw to get Simpson to the ground, but Simpson is right back to his feet. Guys in clinch against the cage with Pierce working some foot stomps. Simpson lands a nice knee clean to Pierce’s body. Pierce stalks Simpson and gets caught by a big Simpson right hand. Pierce hurt and Simpson tries to finish, but Pierce grabs a leg to hang on. Simpson firing away, lifts Pierce off the ground and slams him to the mat. Simpson takes the back of Pierce and is working a choke. Simpson gives up on it and just lands blows from the top as the round ends.

Round 2: Fighters touch gloves and off we go in round 2. Pierce looking like he’s fully recovered. Simpson moves in to engage and Pierce catches Simpson with a short right hand directly to the chin of Simpson and he goes down. Piece adds a couple of unnecessary right hands and scores the KO finish.

– Fight 6: Danny Castillo vs. Michael Johnson – Lightweight
Round 1: Johnson has a 2 inch height and 1 inch reach advantage in this one. Off we go. Johnson lands a nice leg kick and Castillo responds with one of his own. Castillo trying to work the body and then goes upstairs and lands a big right to the head of Johnson. Johnson goes down and Castillo follows him and lands about a dozen hammer fists. Johnson survives for now. Castillo now looking for an arm triangle submission. Johnson survives that and has found a way out. Castillo still on top, landing a few short blows. Castillo totally dominating the round. With 1 minute left, Castillo still on top, controlling Johnson, landing the occasional short elbow. Castillo rides out the round landing more punches from the top.

Round 2: Johnson comes out aggressive throwing lots of kicks and jabs. Through first 30 seconds, Johnson has landed about 10 leg kicks. At 4 minute mark, Castillo throws a leg kick and Johnson catches him with a left hand that drops him. Johnson follows him to the mat and lands 4 solid right hands and Castillo is out. Another great comeback on the undercard tonight.
