Lightweight title bout rescheduled
The planned bout between Bellator lightweight champion Eddie Alvarez and Michael Chandler has been rescheduled for Bellator 58 on Nov. 19.
The fight was originally scheduled for Saturday’s Bellator 54 card, but an injury delayed the title defense.
Bellator 58 also features a non-title fight between Bellator middleweight champion Hector Lombard and Trevor Prangley. That bout will be contested at a catchweight of 195 pounds.
Alvarez has been Bellator lightweight champion since defeating Toby Imada in 2009 and is currently riding a seven-fight win streak. Chandler won the right to face Alvarez by winning Bellator’s season four lightweight tournament.
