White Reveals Plan For Afghanistan Show

UFC President Dana White revealed plans this morning for a UFC show in Afghanistan for U.S. troops stationed there. White revealed the news to a group of reporters in Abu Dhabi, the host of Saturday night’s UFC 112 event.

White said that the Afghanistan show will absolutely happen, regardless of whether or not the show can be televised in the United States or elsewhere. He said that the event is “two to three months away” and is already in the works.

The UFC has held soldier benefit shows before. In 2008, the promotion did an event to raise money for the Intrepid Fallen Heroes Fund, an organization that deals with soldiers with traumatic brain injuries suffered in Iraq and Afghanistan.
