Good Joins Bellator Welterweight Tournament

Lyman Good
Former champion joins tournament

The former welterweight champion of Bellator will return for the promotion’s upcoming welterweight tournament.

Today, it was announced by Bellator Fighting Championships that Lyman Good has joined this year’s 170 lb. tournament.

Good, who lost his title to Ben Askren at Bellator 33 last October, was the first welterweight champion of the promotion after his successful performances throughout the first 170 lb. tournament put on by Bellator. He defeated Omar De La Cruz to earn the title back at Bellator 11, but was unable to ever successfully defend it.

The New York native joins the likes of Dan Hornbuckle, who also has a loss against the aforementioned Askren, Rick Hawn, Chris Lozano, and several others in the tournament. The new season of Bellator is set for this March on MTV2 and is expected to include tournaments in the lightweight, middleweight, and light heavyweight division.
