Karakhanyan fourth to join 145 lb. tourney

The upcoming Bellator Fighting Championships featherweight tournament has added another contestant to the mix.

Officials from the promotion announced earlier today that Georgi Karakhanyan is the fourth man to enter into the eight-man tournament. But this will be nothing new for Karakhanyan, who has competed in the tournament format before.

After posting a professional record of 12-1-1, he entered Bellator’s season two featherweight tournament and started his run off with a bang, knocking out Bao Quach in the opening frame of their round one contest. However, it was not meant to be for Karakhanyan, who was defeated by Joe Warren in the second round of the tournament.

Now, he joins Erik Larkin, Kenny Foster, and Zac George in the season four 145-pound tournament, which is set to begin this March and run for a total of 12 weeks. Three other tournaments are also likely for the latest season, and fans will have a chance to tune into the action on MTV2.
