Zhang, Reinhardt Meet At UFC 127

Zhang vs. Reinhardt slotted for UFC 127

A lightweight bout between Jason Reinhardt and Tiequan Zhang is in the works for UFC 127.

MMAjunkie.com reported news of the bout earlier today, explaining that the match up is not yet signed, but is likely for the February card.

Zhang, who was perfect throughout his first 12 professional bouts with all wins coming via stoppage, was disappointed in his last contest, dropping a unanimous decision to Danny Downes at the final World Extreme Cagefighting event, WEC 53. He debuted with the promotion at WEC 51 with a first round submission against Pablo Garza, but has yet to fight in the Ultimate Fighting Championship.

Unlike the Chinese fighter, Reinhardt has experience inside the UFC. Unfortunately, his lone fight with the promotion came against Joe Lauzon, who earned a submission victory and handed Reinhardt his first loss as a professional. Since the defeat, he has rebounded with a pair of submission victories.

UFC 127 is official for February 27 at the Acer Arena in Sydney, Australia and features a welterweight tilt between B.J. Penn and Jon Fitch. In the co-main event, Jorge Rivera and Michael Bisping will battle at the 185 lb. mark.
