Malegarie the final addition to the Bellator featherweight tournament

Nazareno Malegarie has been added to the Bellator featherweight tournament, completing the eight-man field.

Bellator officials made the addition official.

The Brazilian joins a tournament that features the likes of Georgi Karakhanyan, Patricio Freire, and Wilson Reis. The tournament winner will earn a total of $100,000 for his efforts and a title shot against champion Joe Warren, who won the season two featherweight tournament.

Malagarie, who has cruised under the radar throughout his career, has yet to lose in 19 professional fights. He last competed Colizeu Fight Championship in November, earning a late first round submission victory, which was the seventeenth stoppage victory of his career. 12 of those stoppages have come by way of submission.

Bellator’s season four featherweight tournament will be one of four tournaments featured by the promotion throughout 2011. Beginning in March, the latest season will be broadcast on MTV2 and will last a total of 12 weeks.
