UFC 131: Court McGee Out With Knee Injury

Court McGee

Court McGee has been forced out of UFC 131.

The “Ultimate Fighter 11” winner has pulled out of his scheduled UFC 131 bout with Jesse Bongfeldt due to a knee injury suffered in training.

MMAJunkie.com first reported the news on Monday evening.

McGee defeated Kris McCray at “The Ulitimate Fighter: Team Liddell vs. Team Ortiz Finale” by rear-naked choke, winning the “Ultimate Fighter” title and a submission of the night bonus check to kick off his official UFC career.

McGee, who trains at The Pit in San Luis Obispo, Calif., followed up his “TUF 11” crowning victory with a win submission win over Ryan Jensen at UFC 121 last October.

The UFC hasn’t announced McGee’s injury, and there’s no word yet on a possible replacement.

UFC 131 takes place June 11 at Rogers Arena in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada. The event features heavyweight contenders and “The Ultimate Fighter 13” coaches Brock Lesnar and Junior Dos Santos in the main event.
