Shoulder injury forces Cyborg to withdraw
Evangelista “Cyborg” Santos has been forced to withdraw from his scheduled fight with Paul Daley at “Strikeforce: Fedor vs. Henderson” in July due to a shoulder injury.
The event takes place July 30 at Sears Centre in Hoffman Estates, Ill. It is headlined by a heavyweight dream match between Dan Henderson and Fedor Emelianenko.
Santos, the husband of famed women’s champion Cristiane “Cyborg” Santos, was attempting to rebound from a loss to former Strikeforce welterweight champion Nick Diaz. Diaz recently vacated the championship in order to move to the UFC and face Georges St. Pierre.
Daley suffered his own loss to Diaz in April.
The leading candidate to replace Santos against Daley appears to be Tyron Woodley.
