Kyle last fought against Antonio Silva last December, losing via technical knockout. Still, he gave up a massive amount of weight to Silva’s enormous frame and even dropped the heavyweight in the first round.
Like his upcoming opponent, Mousasi is coming off a disappointing performance against Keith Jardine last April. The two 205 lb. fighters fought to a draw after three rounds of action, derailing Mousasi’s climb back towards the title that was once his.
This fight will take place on the main card of the September 10 event, which features a middleweight title bout between champion Ronaldo “Jacare” Souza and Luke Rockhold. No fights have been made official as of yet.
