Edwards Replaces Injured Head, Faces Maguire At UFC 138

Injury forces Head off Birmingham card

An injury-plagued UFC 138 bout has undergone yet another change.

Mark Scanlon was originally scheduled to face James Head at the Nov. 5 event in England, but an injury forced Scanlon to withdraw from the bout. UFC newcomer John Maguire stepped in to replace Scanlon.

Head has now withdrawn from the bout with an injury. Former TUF 13 fighter Justin Edwards will replace Head and face Maguire on the preliminary card. Edwards scored a victory over Jorge Lopez at Fight Night 25 earlier this month, moving his UFC record to 1-1 after losing his debut bout to Clay Harvison earlier this year.

UFC 138 is headlined by the first five round non-title fight in UFC history between middleweights Chris Leben and Mark Munoz. It will be televised on Spike TV.
