Emelianenko, Monson meet on November 20

Struggling mixed martial arts legend Fedor Emelianenko looks to turn his career back around against Jeff Monson.

M-1 Global confirmed the match up earlier today.

The bout will take place on November 20 in Moscow, Russia at Olympic Stadium. It was originally expected to happen on November 12.

Monson last fought at “Strikeforce: Overeem vs. Werdum,” losing to Daniel Cormier via unanimous decision. The loss snapped an eight-fight winning streak and ruined any hope of the veteran making his way into the heavyweight grand prix as a replacement.

Meanwhile, Emelianenko, who was not long ago touted as the best fighter in all of the sport, has not picked up a victory since he knocked out Brett Rogers in November of 2009. He has three consecutive losses, including his defeat at the hands of Fabricio Werdum, Antonio Silva, and, most recently, Dan Henderson.

His loss to Henderson led to Zuffa releasing him from his Strikeforce contract.
