Rashad Evans Has Pins Removed From Hand; Details On Return

Evans will resume training in three weeks

HOUSTON – Former UFC light heavyweight champion Rashad Evans underwent a quick procedure on Wednesday afternoon to remove pins from his injured hand and has been cleared to resume training after three more weeks of rest.

Evans’ manager, Glenn Robinson, confirmed the news with HeavyMMA.com on Wednesday night.

“Rashad is going to rest up for three weeks and then he’ll be ready to start his training camp,” Robinson said. “He’s ready to go.”

Evans was under consideration for a UFC 140 main event with light heavyweight champ Jon Jones, but the three weeks of doctor-mandated rest would prevent him from starting and conducting a proper training camp for a title fight of this magnitude.
