TUF 7 winner looks to get back in win column

The UFC’s Super Bowl weekend card has gotten a little deeper with the addition of a TUF champion.

Amir Sadollah, winner of Season 7 of “The Ultimate Fighter,” will meet Jorge Lopez in a welterweight bout at UFC 143. The UFC announced the addition of the fight late Tuesday.

Sadollah (5-3, 5-3 UFC) had a two-fight winning streak snapped in August at the hands of Duane Ludwig at UFC on Versus 5. Prior to that, he had built up his record with wins over Peter Sobotta and DaMarques Johnson. Sadollah has yet to lose back-to-back fights in his pro career, all of which has been in the UFC, and will be hoping to avoid that in February.

Lopez (11-2, 0-1 UFC), like Sadollah, won’t have to travel far for the fight. The Las Vegas-based member of Wanderlei Silva‘s Wand Fight Team lost his UFC debut in September in New Orleans, a unanimous decision setback against Justin Edwards. That loss snapped his 10-fight winning streak.

The UFC 143 pay-per-view takes place Feb. 4 at the Mandalay Bay Events Center in Las Vegas. The main event will feature the highly anticipated welterweight title fight between champion Georges St-Pierre and former Strikeforce welterweight champ Nick Diaz. The co-main event pits Carlos Condit against Josh Koscheck, with the winner expected to meet the St-Pierre vs. Diaz winner for the title later in 2012.
