TUF 3 winner makes $425,000 vs. Miller
Michael Bisping pocketed $425,000 for his decisive TKO victory over Jason “Mayhem” Miller on Saturday, and hits paycheck was more than the rest of the 19 fighters on the card combined. Heavy.com on Monday received the list of salaries from the Nevada State Athletic Commission.
Bisping made $275,000 to show and an additional $150,000 win bonus for the main event on the TUF 14 Finale card at The Palms in Las Vegas. Miller earned $45,000 in the loss and would have doubled that with a win. He was a 2-to-1 underdog in the fight. Bisping and Miller fought following Season 14 of “The Ultimate Fighter,” on which they were opposing coaches for the show’s featherweight and bantamweight contestants.
The total payroll for the event was $706,000, of which Bisping earned about 60 percent for his $425,000 share.
In the only other fight on the card not involving Season 14 TUF contestants, Season 13 TUF winner Tony Ferguson beat Yves Edwards by unanimous decision. Ferguson made $30,000 for the win. Edwards earned his $16,000 show money.
The rest of the salaries on the card were straightforward. All Season 14 TUF fighters, including featherweight winner Diego Brandao and bantamweight winner John Dodson, made $8,000 to show and an additional $8,000 to win except Josh Clopton. Clopton was the only TUF 14 fighter on Saturday’s card who did not win entry into the house. He replaced an injured Akira Corissani for the finale and made $6,000 to show instead of the $8,000 contracted for the other fighters.
