Two More Bouts Added to UFC on Fuel TV in Sweden

Jason Young meets Eric Wisely, Yoislandy Izquierdo fights Reza Madadi on April 14

The UFC’s first trip to Sweden looks to be complete with the announcement of two more fights for the now 12-bout card.

Eric Wisely will meet Jason Young in a featherweight bout, and Yoislandy Izquierdo will face Reza Madadi in a lightweight bout, which will be the UFC debut for both fighters. The UFC announced the fights early Sunday for UFC on Fuel TV: Gustafsson vs. Nogueira, which will take place April 14 at the Ericsson Globe Arena in Stockholm, Sweden.

Wisely (19-7, 0-1 UFC) steps in for Akira Corassani, who had to pull out of the fight with Young due to injury. Wisely made his UFC debut last month in Chicago, just a couple hours from his hometown in western Illinois, but lost by calf-slicer submission to Charles Oliveira in the first round. Young (8-5, 0-2 UFC) is in dire straits after losing his first two fights in the UFC by unanimous decision. He made his promotional debut at UFC 131, losing to Dustin Poirier, then followed it up with a loss to Michihiro Omigawa at UFC 138.

Izquierdo (6-0) finally makes his UFC debut after having to be removed from last week’s UFC on Fuel TV card, reportedly due to a contract squabble with another promotion. “Cuba” has four of his six wins by stoppage, three in the first round. Madadi (11-2) also was scheduled to debut earlier this year, but had to pull out of a fight at UFC on FX: Guillard vs. Miller last month due to injury. “Mad Dog,” of Swedish and Iranian descent, will make his debut on the strength of a six-fight winning streak.

UFC on Fuel TV: Gustafsson vs. Nogueira features a main event light heavyweight bout between Alexander Gustafsson and Antonio Rogerio Nogueira. The main card will air live on the Fuel TV cable station.
