Bisping reveals odd Twitter messages from Sonnen

UFC middleweight Michael Bisping is just one of the many fighters active on Twitter, allowing the fighter to communicate with fans through announcements and updates. But, apparently, the social networking site does not only allow interaction with his supporters.

Earlier this week, Bisping discussed an odd pair of direct messages he received from current 185 lb. top contender Chael Sonnen while waiting in the doctor’s office, according to MMA Weekly.com. Direct messages can only be viewed by the two individuals involved in the conversation, but Bisping wouldn’t let that hold him back from revealing what Sonnen had to say.

“I was actually at the doctor’s when this came through,” Bisping told MMAWeekly.com. “‘Alright man, here’s my guess, you’re not hurt and we are rematching. If I am right give me a clue in your tweet. Include the word “lad” in your next tweet.’

“And I’m sitting in the doctor’s surgery and I’m like, ‘What the hell is this guy talking about?’ Obviously, he’s quaking in his boots at the thought of a rematch cause he knows I won the last fight and he doesn’t want to fight me again.”

Sonnen would follow up on his first message shortly after, telling Bisping to disregard his last message and that the conspiracy theory behind the Brit’s injury had passed.

Bisping and Sonnen met at “UFC on FOX: Evans vs. Davis,” and the American wrestler earned the unanimous decision nod in a very competitive fight; a fight Bisping clearly felt, and still feels, he won. Sonnen’s victory was followed by an entertaining post-fight speech in which he once again called out middleweight champion Anderson Silva.

Sonnen will meet Silva in a title rematch at UFC 148 on July 7 at the Mandalay Bay Events Center in Las Vegas, Nevada, while Bisping recovers from surgery. Bisping was originally set to meet Tim Boetsch at UFC 149, but an injury forced him out of the contest.
