UFC 146 competitors submit clean samples

The 24 fighters who competed at UFC 146 last Saturday all submitted samples for drug testing. Fortunately, all 24 of the fighters were clean, none testing positive for steroids or illegal drugs.

MMAjunkie.com learned of the news from the Nevada State Athletic Commissioner Executive Director.

UFC 146 featured an all-heavyweight main card headlined by champion Junior dos Santos and top contender Frank Mir. Dos Santos earned a second round technical knockout win, retaining his heavyweight title.

The main event was originally set to be a match up between former Strikeforce heavyweight champion Alistair Overeem and dos Santos, but the fighter nicknamed “The Demolition Man” was forced out of the contest after failing a drug test.

Also highlighting the main card, which took place in Las Vegas, Nevada, Cain Velasquez brutalized Antonio Silva en route to a first round stoppage, while Roy Nelson earned a knockout victory over Dave Herman.
