International Fight Week set for July 3-7

The Ultimate Fighting Championship and the Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Authority have partnered together to announce the first-ever International Fight Week.

The event will take place between July 3 and 7.

International Fight week will give fans the opportunity to experience the UFC Fan Expo, which takes place on July 6 and 7, and gain access to open workouts for fighters participating at UFC 148. Also included in the experience, fans will attend pool parties and pub crawls hosted by UFC fighters and Octagon girls, while a concert will also be put on.

“For years the UFC has done a big Vegas show around the Fourth of July weekend and now we’ve made it a focal point in our calendar,” UFC President Dana White said. “For UFC 148, we’ve got fans coming in from all over the country, tons of people from Brazil and Canada and as far away as England, Japan, and Australia to see this fight.

“Las Vegas is the UFC’s hometown. This is where our headquarters are, this is where we are from, and we’re proud to be contributing to the local economy. The first annual International Fight Week will be awesome, the fans are going to have a fight week experience better than anything they’ve had before, and each year we are going to build this thing to te point where every fan on the plantet knows they have to come to Vegas for this July fight week at least once in their lives.”

The promotion also released a timetable for the week-long experience. Here are some of the major highlights:

– UFC 148 Press Conference at Lagasse Stadium at the Palazzo on July 3
– Fourth of July concert at Fremont Street, featuring 3 Doors Down
– UFC 148 Open Workouts at Wynn
