Gomez, Moraga meet at the Staples Center
Flyweights Ulysses Gomez and John Moraga are expected to meet at “UFC on FOX 4” later this year in Los Angeles, California.
Gomez replaces an injured Ian McCall, who was originally expected to compete on the card.
MMADieHards.com was first to report the contest.
“UFC on FOX 4” is set for the Staples Center in L.A. on August 4, featuring a light heavyweight main event between Mauricio “Shogun” Rua and Brandon Vera.
Gomez was the first flyweight champion of the Tachi Palace Fighting promotion, though he did not finish his career under that promotion as the champion.
Meanwhile, Moraga looks to earn a victory of his own in his UFC debut, entering a division that will have a champion after UFC 152 this September.
At that event, which takes place in Toronto, Joseph Benavidez and Demetrious Johnson meet in the first-ever UFC flyweight championship fight.
