Spike TV Streams K-1 Fights Beginning In September

Spike TV and K-1 have agreed to a partnership that will allow the kickboxing promotion’s fights to reach a broad audience.

Announced this week, Spike TV will stream live K-1 competitions on Spike.com, beginning September 8 at the U.S. World Grand Prix Championships in Los Angeles, Calif.

Four events will be live streamed in 2012.

However, the plans for 2013 are even bigger, as K-1 events will transfer over to Spike TV, joining Bellator Fighting Championships in the network’s plans to cover combat sports more extensively.

“We are thrilled to be in business with the world’s preeminent kickboxing organization,” Jon Slusser, Senior V.P., Sports and Multiplatform Events, Spike TV state. “Spike has the most passionate and knowledgeable fans of combat sports and we are confident that tey will enjoy the high-action of K-1, which serves as the perfect complement to our Bellator coverage next year.”

The complete live stream schedule is as follows

September 8 – U.S. Grand Prix Championships in Los Angeles
October 14 – World Grand Prix Final in Tokyo, Japan
December 8 – MAX Final in Athens, Greece
December 26 – World Grand Prix Final in New York
