Weidman vs. Boetsch official for Dec.
A middleweight bout between contenders Chris Weidman and Tim Boetsch will take place in Las Vegas at UFC 155.
The promotion announced the fight, adding it to the year-end card last week.
The event takes place on December 29. A venue has yet to be announced, and a heavyweight main event between champion Junior dos Santos and Cain Velasquez is expected to serve as the evening’s main event.
Weidman’s feelings on the situation may be mixed, as the contender, at least at one point, expected to be the next man to face champion Anderson Silva. A win over Boetsch will likely be enough to secure the top contender spot for the young 185 lb. fighter.
Meanwhile, Boetsch has turned heads since dropping to the middleweight division. He is 4-0 at the 185 lb. mark, including wins over Hector Lombard and Yushin Okami.
