Browne tore hamstring last Friday night

Travis Browne didn’t want to take anything away from Antonio Silva on Friday night at “UFC on FX 5.”

After all, the Brazilian heavyweight put Browne down in the opening frame of their contest and finished the fight with his ground and pound. Browne even stated after the fight that he didn’t want to take anything away from his opponent.

But it was clear early on that Browne was not himself as he came up limping following a strike.

A few days following the event, the injury has been revealed.

“They said I tore my hamstring,” Browne stated on Twitter.

He went on to reveal that he would be out at least two months, but would avoid surgery.

Browne’s loss to Silva was his first as a professional, pushing his record to 13-1-1. Prior to the loss, he earned three straight victories in the UFC.
