Strikeforce welterweight champion Nick Diaz is on a collision course with British bomber Paul Daley, and the Stockton, Calif. native isn’t impressed with Daley’s fight game.

“I’m not really impressed with Paul Daley as a mixed martial artist. He’s got great stand up, sure. He has good knockout power,” said Diaz during the “Strikeforce: Diaz vs. Cyborg” post-fight press conference.

“I see me putting punches on him and, maybe, him trying to take me down too and getting caught in a choke. Something like that, or he could run from me and me run him down. And I run him down, take him down and beat him on the ground. I don’t know. I could see that fight going a lot of different ways. It’s whatever.”

When asked how he might approach a fight with Daley, the Strikeforce welterweight titleholder said, “I don’t know. I might just do karate.”

“I think if I’m going to be fighting Paul Daley I’m going to have to get in there and we’re going to have to see how that’s going to be,” he added.

Strikeforce has named Daley as Diaz’ next opponent if Daley wins his upcoming main event match up against Yuya Shirai at “BAMMA 5: Daley vs. Shirai” on Feb. 26 in Manchester, England.

Without knowing whether he’ll face Daley next or not, Diaz is done discussing the possible match up.

“I’m not going to have any further comments on that fight that I don’t even know is or isn’t going to happen. But if it is, I’m done commenting on how I’m going to fight that guy,” said Diaz.

“I’m sure he knows what’s going to happen to him if he steps in there to fight me. I’m sure that everybody that steps in there to fight me knows what I bring to the table. All they can really do is try to down-talk me and minimize what I’ve done in the past and what I might to do them.”
