Paul Daley Officially Signs To Face Nick Diaz

Daley, Diaz official for April 9

Paul Daley signed his name on the dotted line Tuesday making his April 9 Strikeforce title fight with Nick Diaz official.

Nick Diaz’ manager, Cesar Gracie, informed MMAFighting.com of the news earlier today.

Daley was banned from ever fighting in the UFC again by UFC president Dana White following a post-fight incident at UFC 113. After clearly losing to Josh Koscheck by decision, the two fighters exchanged words after the closing bell and Daley punched Koscheck.

Daley has since put together a four-fight win streak outside of the UFC and signed with Strikeforce. The match-up with Diaz was announced by the organization prior to being purchased by Zuffa LLC, the parent company of the UFC.

Daley reacted to the purchase by recently insinuating that he may not take the fight with Diaz on the Underground Forum.

The signing of the bout agreement ended any speculation that the fight may not happen.

Strikeforce: Diaz vs. Daley is scheduled to take place on April 9 at the Valley View Casino Center in San Diego, Calif.
