A welterweight tilt between Tarec Saffiedine and Scott Smith has been added to “Strikeforce: Fedor vs. Henderson.”
MMAweekly.com reported the news earlier today.
Smith last fought against Paul Daley at “Strikeforce: Babalu vs. Henderson,” losing via vicious first round knockout last December. Prior to that disappointing contest, he was defeated by Cung Le in June and know is 1-3 within his last four fights.
Meanwhile, Saffiedine is also coming off a loss, having been defeated by Tyrone Woodley in January. The loss snapped a three-fight winning streak that began back in February of 2010 and included a win over Brock Larson.
The fight will take place on the July 30 card which features a catchweight bout between Fedor Emelianenko and Dan Henderson. Whether it will end up on the preliminary card or main card has yet to be announced.
