Strikeforce Challengers 18: Weigh-In Results

Weigh-in results for Strikeforce Challengers 18

LAS VEGAS – HeavyMMA.com was live at the Palms Casino Resort for today’s Strikeforce Challengers 18 weigh-ins.

All but one of the competitors for tomorrow’s Showtime-televised card made weight on their first attempt. Main-event participants Jorge Gurgel (154) and Joe Duarte (155) closed out the proceedings.

Former Olympic judo medalist Ronda Rousey makes her Strikeforce debut on the card. Rousey qualified for the 2004 Olympics at just 17 years old. She made the Olympic team again in 2008 and became the first American woman to win a bronze medal in judo since the sport was confirmed as an Olympic sport in 1992.

The Pearl at the Palms Casino now serves as the official home for all Strikeforce Challengers events. Tomorrow’s card will be the second Challengers event in Las Vegas; the first took place in July and was the first-ever Strikeforce card in Las Vegas.
