Gray Maynard and Nate Diaz, two veterans of The Ultimate Fighter, will square off in the main event of Ultimate Fight Night 20. The show takes place Jan. 11 at the campus of George Mason University in Fairfax, Va.
The bout will be the second between Diaz and Maynard, who faced each other during the fifth season of The Ultimate Fighter. Diaz earned a submission victory in that bout, but Maynard has been perfect ever since.
For Maynard, the bout is an important one: a victory over the talented Diaz will earn him a lightweight championship match. Maynard’s last outing in the UFC came in September, where he earned a split-decision victory over the departing Roger Huerta.
