Koscheck, Thiago Agree To UFC 109 Bout

A rematch between top welterweights Josh Koscheck and Paulo Thiago is currently in the works for UFC 109 in February.

MMA Fanhouse issued the initial report, and Heavy.com has confirmed with sources close to the UFC that both fighters have verbally agreed to the bout.

Thiago defeated Koscheck last February at UFC 95 in what was viewed as a gigantic upset at the time. Since then, Thiago has gone 1-1 in the UFC and most recently defeated Jacob Volkmann at UFC 106.

Koscheck, who told Heavy.com three weeks ago that he wanted to fight fight twelve times in 2009, also fought at UFC 106. He defeated Anthony Johnson in the best performance of his career in the co-main event of the evening. After the bout, Koshceck voiced his belief that he, not Dan Hardy, should be the number one contender for the championship currently held by Georges St. Pierre.
