Reports: Lesnar Will Make Spring Return

Concrete information surrounding the current health status of UFC heavyweight champion Brock Lesnar has been sparse as of late.

Lesnar, sidelined with a bout of diverticulitis since September, last appeared in the UFC octagon in July 2009. His future has been very much in question for the past two months, with many hints that he may never fight again.

But now former UFC light heavyweight and heavyweight champion Randy Couture says he’s spoken to Lesnar, and that Lesnar will be back much sooner than anyone expects.

“I spoke with Brock. I don’t think his career is over. They have the issues he’s been having under control and he’s back training,” said Couture. “I think he will be back in the Octagon this spring and ready to fight again.”

Couture’s comments echo those of longtime Lesnar trainer Marty Morgan, who recently suggested that Lesnar will absolutely fight again.
