Beltran Replaces Al-Turk Against Gracie at UFC 109

UFC heavyweight newcomer Joey “The Mexecutioner” Beltran has been officially tabbed as a replacement for Mostapha Al-Turk.

Beltran, who defeated former UFC light heavyweight Houston Alexander just three weeks ago, will take Al-Turk’s place against Rolles Gracie this Saturday at UFC 109.

Beltran has scored victories in six of his last seven fights, which includes stints in Total Combat, King of the Cage and Bellator Fighting Championships. Beltran said that his newly-inked UFC contract is a four-fight deal.

Beltran wasn’t the only replacement fighter considered for the Gracie bout. Heavy.com has confirmed with sources close to the bout that “Ultimate Fighter 10” contestant Jon Madsen was also considered for the bout should Beltran not be able to make it.
