The UFC today officially announced the “UFC on Versus 2” event, which is scheduled for Aug. 1 in Salt Lake City.
The card — headlined by a light heavyweight tilt between super-prospect Jon Jones and veteran Vladimir Matyushenko — will be the second UFC event to be televised on the Versus network. Jones also headlined the first Versus event, dismantling Brandon Vera and forcing many to call for him to face tougher competition.
As Heavy.com first reported in April, Takanori Gomi will also make his second Octagon appearance against Joe Stevenson.
Tickets for the event will go on sale for UFC Fight Club members at 10 a.m. MT on Wednesday, May 26. General public tickets sales will be available on May 28.
