Two UFC 118 Preliminary Fights To Broadcast On Spike TV

A one-hour preliminary special on Spike TV prior to UFC 118 is set for this August. Spike TV officials made the news official earlier today.

The two fights included in the broadcast will be a lightweight fixture between Massachusetts native Joe Lauzon and Terry Etim and a middleweight fixture between Jorge Rivera and Alessio Sakara. Both the lightweights look to rebound from losses in their last fights, while the middleweights are each rolling off of knockout victories. The bouts are the final two on the evening’s preliminary card and will be the lead into the main card on pay-per-view.

The pay-per-view portion of the August 28 event at the TD Garden in Boston, Massachusetts features a lightweight title rematch between champion BJ Penn and Frankie Edgar. The UFC’s debut in Boston will also feature the debut of boxing legend James Toney and former UFC light heavyweight and heavyweight champion Randy Couture.
