Jorge Rivera Withdraws From UFC 118

UFC middleweight and “Ultimate Fighter” veteran Jorge Rivera has been forced to withdraw from UFC 118 due to injury. Rivera posted the news on his official Facebook page that a broken arm has forced him off of the card and his fight with Alessio Sakara.

UFC 118 is set for the TD Garden in Boston, Massachusetts on August 28. The promotion has just over one month before the card to secure a replacement for Rivera.

The bout with Sakara was originally set to broadcast on Spike TV’s preliminary card special alongside Joe Lauzon vs. Terry Etim. No word has been made as to whether the fight will be replaced or whether Sakara will remain on the hour-long special with a new opponent.
