Ion Television To Broadcast UFC 125 Prelims

UFC 125
Ion Television will carry three preliminary fights from Saturday’s UFC 125 event in Las Vegas.

Marcus Davis vs. Jeremy Stephens, Josh Grispi vs. Dustin Poirier and Phil Baroni will all be televised by the network. It marks the first time that the UFC has scheduled free preliminary bouts on network television.

“I am excited for our fans because I’ve been looking for ways to broadcast UFC prelims free and to as many homes as possible,” UFC president Dana White said. “Ion is the largest broadcast television station group in the U.S., and this deal will put the UFC prelims in almost 100 million homes.”

MMAJunkie.com first reported the news on Monday night.

UFC 125 is headlined by a lightweight title bout between champ Frankie Edgar and Gray Maynard, the only man to ever defeat Edgar. The co-main event will see Brian Stann face off against Chris Leben in an intriguing middleweight bout.
