Two more bouts in the works for UFC 129 in Toronto

A welterweight bout between Brian Foster and Sean Pierson is reportedly in the works for UFC 129 this April, as is a middleweight contest between Daniel Roberts and Claude Patrick.

MMAjunkie.com was the first to report the news on the welterweight tilt, while Roberts announced his bout via his official Twitter account earlier today.

The welterweight contest features two of the division’s most promising prospects, as both Pierson, who dominated Matt Riddle in his last fight, and Foster, who submitted Matt Brown in his latest outing, have each shown great promise.

Pierson debuted with the Ultimate Fighting Championship against the aforementioned Riddle this past December at UFC 124 and walked away with the unanimous decision. Foster, however, has a bit more experience with the UFC, as he has been fighting for the promotion since September of 2009.

Like the two welterweights, both Roberts and Patrick have impressed as of late. Roberts added another win to his record at UFC 125, submitting Greg Soto in the opening frame of their bout, while Patrick took a unanimous decision against James Wilks in his last outing. Roberts now has a record of 12-1, but Patrick holds the edge at 13-1, having taken home the victory in 12 straight fights.

Both contests will likely fall onto the preliminary card of UFC 129, which is set for Toronto, Ontario, Canada on April 30. A main event between UFC welterweight champion Georges St. Pierre and Jake Shields has been officially announced by the promotion, while a light heavyweight contest between Randy Couture and Lyoto Machida is likely for the card as well.
