“UFC Primetime” replay on ESPN2 draws 144,000

The UFC debuted on ESPN2 with a replay of “UFC Primetime: St. Pierre vs. Shields” drew 144,000 viewers last Wednesday.

MMAjunkie.com confirmed the numbers with an industry source earlier today.

The three-part series features an in-depth look into the training and preparation of UFC welterweight champion Georges St. Pierre and top contender Jake Shields leading up to their April 30 bout in Toronto at UFC 129.

The ESPN2 replay featured the second installment of the special, which was shown twice on the network on April 20. The second showing of the episode drew just under 40,000 less viewers, earning a total of 105,000.

The finale of the series will be aired on SpikeTV this Wednesday at 12 a.m. ET/PT, just days prior to the massive event. 55,000 tickets have been sold for the Rogers Centre. Along with the welterweight title bout, featherweight champion Jose Aldo will put his strap on the line against 145 lb. top contender Mark Hominick.
