UFC headed to Pittsburgh this June
The Ultimate Fighting Championship has found a venue for “UFC on Versus 4.”
The promotion announced today that the Consol Energy Center in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania will play host to the June event.
The venue can seat approximately 19,000 fans and hosts sporting and entertainment events fairly regularly. The upcoming card, which is set for June 26, will mark the first time the UFC has held an event at the arena.
“UFC on Versus 4” is still in the works, but the promotion has begun announcing bouts recently, including Manny Gamburyan vs. Tyson Griffin and Joe Stevenson vs. Javier Vazquez. Also official for the June event is a welterweight contest between Rich Attonito and Matt Brown.
The only bout that is currently being rumored is a heavyweight clash between strikers Cheick Kongo and Pat Barry. A main event contest has yet to be named by UFC officials.
