Jeff Curran Signs With The UFC

UFC veteran Curran returns to promotion

Longtime mixed martial arts veteran Jeff Curran has signed with the Ultimate Fighting Championship.

MMAjunkie.com reported the news earlier on Tuesday.

Curran last fought under the Zuffa banner at WEC 42 against Takeya Mizugaki, losing via split-decision. The loss was his last with the promotion after posting a 1-4 record, which included losses to Urijah Faber, Mike Brown, and Joseph Benavidez. His lone win with the promotion came against Stephen Ledbetter.

Since being released from the WEC, Curran has turned his career around with four wins in his last five fights. He last competed at Xtreme Fighting Organization 39, earning a unanimous decision win. The bout was number 47 of his lengthy and successful career.

Curran is expected to return to the promotion this fall against Scott Jorgensen. His last bout in the UFC was a loss to former welterweight title holder Matt Serra.
